UNICO’s 14th Clambake fundraiser helps the needy

The Marlboro Town Board approved a
resolution that will exempt the developer
of the proposed Bayside residential project
from having to submit a Supplemental
Environmental Impact Statement [SEIS].
Previously, the developer submitted
an initial Draft Environmental Impact
Statement [DEIS] in 2011. The board’s
action last week paves the way for the
developer to move ahead and assemble
documentation that will become their
Final Environmental Impact Statement
[FEIS].
The project has undergone significant
changes over the years, moving from
101, two bedroom units of townhouses
multi-family housing consisting of 202
bedrooms to its present configuration of
104 units of mixed, two and three bedroom
apartments for a total of 228 bedrooms.
The number of structures on the 25
acre site has been reduced from 26 to 6,
with a footprint that was 127,677 sq./ft.
and has been scaled back to 66,420 sq./
ft. The residential population, however,
will increase from 216 to 270 people, with
school age children increasing from 17.8
to 20. The number of additional cars will
also increase by two or three in the peak

of UNICO hosted their 14th annual
Clambake fundraiser at the Benmarl
winery.
UNICO member Willy Biggin
recalled that “somebody came up with
the idea and it was such a big hit.” He
