Holiday Shelter Hours
Arlington Animal Services will be closed December 24th and 25th for the Christmas Holiday and will reopen on December 27th .
Shelter hours on December 31st will be 10am-4pm and the shelter will be closed January 1st in observation of New Year ' s Day . The shelter will reopen for normal operations on Monday , January 3rd .
Adoption Special Pets at Arlington Animal Services are hoping to find their ' Home for the Howlidays '! All adoptable pets are just $ 20 to adopt and VIP pets are just $ 10 ! As always , adoption fees include core vaccinations , spay / neuter surgery , heartworm testing for dogs and FIV / FELV testing for cats , a microchip and MORE ! 2022 Sheri Capehart Animal Essay Contest The 21st annual essay contest has officially kicked off ! The Sheri Capehart Animal Essay Contest is open to all students in 3rd , 4th , 5th or 6th grades , who attend either public , private or home school and live in Arlington .
2022 Essay Topics by Grade : Grade 3 : If you could make up a holiday for animals , what holiday would it be and how would you celebrate it ? Grade 4 : How do you think animals communicate with people ? Grade 5 : If you could make one rule for the world to follow about animals and everyone had to follow it …. what would that rule be ? Grade 6 : In 2060 how will animal shelters be different than they are today ? Essay entries begin January 10th and must be submitted by 5 p . m . January 14 , 2022 .
