The Laguna Art Museum set the dates for the 41st Annual California Cool Art Auction , Benefit & Bash . The popular fundraiser will place Feb . 18 to March 4 , 2023 . Bidding for the annual auction will open online on Feb . 18 . The auction will feature works from over 125 California artists , on view to preview in person at Laguna Art Museum with paid admission , Feb . 18 through March 4 .

The auction will culminate with an exclusive Benefit & Bash at the museum on March 4 beginning at 6:30 p . m ., connecting artists , collectors and the community in a celebration of California culture . The museum ’ s largest fundraiser of the year has been reimagined to offer the preeminent California Cool experience , with a creative California-inspired culinary and cocktail experience , a special performance by musical guest and Laguna local , Grammy-nominated , Lee Rocker of the Stray Cats , an artistic photo opportunity on the red carpet with photographer Tony Pinto and the chance to meet many of California ’ s most notable artists supporting the museum and participating in the auction . Online auction bidding will continue through the evening , concluding at 8 p . m . on March 4 .

Twenty years ago , Jill Templin , fresh out of college and suffering the loss of her father , began searching for inner peace . Her spiritual journey led her to open The Chakra Shack at just 24 years old , and , after three location changes , the shop on 976 S . Pacific Coast Highway has become a solid fixture in Laguna Beach .

“ I feel like the Goldilocks of Laguna Beach ,” Templin said . “ This one ’ s not right . That one ’ s too small . This place may be too big , but I feel well connected to the community , the people and the walk sing lifestyle of being so close to the beach .”

The 6.5-acre property set to increase community , recreational opportunities in South Laguna

City Manager Shohreh Dupuis has announced the City of Laguna Beach closed escrow this Wednesday on the 6.5-acre St . Catherine of Siena school property at 30516 Coast Highway . The City will start programming its use in early 2023 .

“ The acquisition of St . Catherine ’ s school is a unique and rare opportunity for our community , given that the City of Laguna Beach is largely built out ,” Laguna Beach Mayor Bob Whalen said . “ I want to thank the Diocese of Orange for working with us over the past two years and allowing this property to remain as a community-serving facility .”

The City negotiated the $ 23 million purchase of the 6.5-acre property to increase community and recreational opportunities in South Laguna . The property has four buildings that give around 39,500 square feet of indoor space and
