Chef demonstration by MOF Chef Frederic Lalos
Chef Frederic Lalos went to Singapore and visited ITE College West few weeks ago. Passionate
about bakery and awarded Meilleur Ouvrier de France when he was only 26, Chef Frederic Lalos
shared with students from the ITE-IPB Technical Diploma program some specific bakery technics.
During the demonstration session, ITE students got the opportunity to understand sourdough and
bread making.

Helsinki’s Amusement Academy’s Management Training Started on Haaga-Helia
Close to 30 employees of Helsinki’s and Finland’s main amusement park will develop and diversify
their skills during the 1.5-year training course with Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. The
objective of the program is to revamp amusement park’s management culture, and to help
managers adopting a result-driving role and allow them to manage sales and services in a way that
takes them forward hand-in-hand.

April 25 to April 29 2016, this one-week event will include distinguished chef demonstrations,
alumnus working experience sharing and themes exhibition from culinary department. Activities
will be open to public and free for high school students. A good way to show the uniqueness of the
school and highlight program benefits!

Informative brunch at USFQ

On March 5 2016, USFQ organized an informative brunch to promote the essence of the School
of Hospitality, Culinary Arts and Tourism to High School seniors who are interested in these
specifics majors. Participants had the opportunity to meet and greet professors. A journey
dedicated to exchanges and sharing, which allowed 150 participants to understand some
techniques of basic cooking and managing events.

Success Story
Kira & Michel
Kira is Finnish. Michel is Colombian. They met for the first time in 2010 during the Worldwide
Alliance session. They both participated to learn and acquire French technics, and discover new
cultures. After their stay at Institut Paul Bocuse, they never left each other. They created their own
company, wrote and published a cookbook, and found a family.
