Southeast Valley Graduation 2021

A fine farewell to the Seniors of Southeast Valley High on Sunday , May 16 , 2021 . The ceremony was held in the Southeast Valley newly renovated gymnasium . The weather outside a cool 63 degrees and scattered showers could have made the outside graduation quite uncomfortable .
The familiar Pomp and Circumstance played by the SV Band as the seniors filed into their seats , the last time as Southeast Valley High School students .

Gowrie Business Offers New BBQ Experience

A new eatery has arrived on the Gowrie scene catering to the appetites of those who love BBQ food . The new establishment is called Sinsational BBQ & Smoked Meats .

Mr . Ketcham gave the welcome speech as everyone got settled into the seats .
This year ’ s class speaker Morgan Farnham reflected on the high school years in her send-off speech . With his “ Get Ready World Class of 2021 is Coming for You !” speech , Jonah Siebert told about how the class that had endured so many obstacles to get to be Graduating Seniors . Both addresses were outstanding and received well-deserved applause when completed .

Fisher shared a little about himself and his experience and his love affair with BBQ . “ I ’ ve been grilling and smoking meat most of my adult life since I lost my father in 2007 and it ’ s something I have found that keeps us
Shannon Miller , and Southeast Webster Grand Board of Education , President Alan Wicklein split the diploma duties to most of the graduating class . Brian Johnson made a special delivery to Braeden Johnson , his son , and Board Member Chad Lambert gave his son Carson Lambert the diploma .
The Southeast Valley Senior Choir performed notables during the event , such as “ Exsultate ! Jubilate !” and “ Little Suite for Band ” mvt . III performed by the SV Band .
All enjoyed the ceremony as they went off to spend the day with family and friends .

Fisher moved to Iowa in 2011 and would often cook for his fellow work associates who seemed to love what he prepared . “ I would also host weekly cookouts for friends .” He began cooking competitively in 2016 . Winning first place in one of the day ’ s events is what he says had him hooked on the competitions from then on .
“ Over the years I ’ ve won many other awards with my prepared meats , so I decided to make my award-winning BBQ available to the public by starting an LLC in 2020 . I ’ ve been operating for a year but didn ’ t have a place to call my own as I would have to rent space to prepare meals which was getting very old , very fast , as well as costly . So when I heard that the cafe was going to be available soon , I knew the time was now .”
