new movement is forming across
Georgia that is changing our
conversations about healthcare. Over
the past year, through Healthcare
Georgia Foundation’s Two Georgias Initiative,
eleven rural coalitions have convened scores of
representatives from diverse sectors of their
communities, listened to the needs of local
residents, and designed plans to improve health
and healthcare for rural Georgians.

Decatur County.
Based on those community needs, coalition
members went to work in 2017 to address how
social determinants such as transportation,
education, poverty, literacy, food insecurity, and
