17TH IMEKO TC 10 AND EUROLAB VIRTUAL
CONFERENCE: GLOBAL TRENDS IN TESTING,
DIAGNOSTICS AND INSPECTION FOR 2030
VIRTUAL CONFERENCE
OCT 20 - 22, 2020
Following current measures and predictions regarding traveling in the future, IMEKO and EUROLAB
aisbl are to organise this year's conference virtually and to reschedule the Dubrovnik conference to the
year 2022. The decision has been made now to avoid uncertainties regarding travelling arrangements
and to encourage preparation for the participation at the virtual conference either by presenting papers
or visiting lectures in digital form.
This is the second conference jointly organised by IMEKO and EUROLAB aisbl with the aim to enhance
the co-operation on global level. Participants will have an opportunity to see top specialists from all over
the world with professional experience in industry, universities, research and development as well as in
metrology, testing, inspection, diagnostics and certification. The virtual conference will be a forum for
exchanging ideas about challenges for the third decade in regard to new technologies, techniques, methods,
standards, conformity assessment, quality management and their application in industrial processes and
scientific community. Leading keynote speakers will present their thoughts and achievements in the
main topics.

FREE E-LEARNING ON NPL COURSES UNTIL 30 JUNE 2020
The challenges brought about by the covid-19 situation have created an unprecedented
change in the way students and the academic workforce across the UK are operating.
Working remotely has become a new reality for many, with employers, employees and
students alike all looking for ways to adapt.
To help students and staff across academia with ongoing development of industry relevant skills NPL
have announced the suspension of all fees associated with their e-learning training courses which
are now available free of charge until 30 June 2020. Courses, which may cost up to £700, cover a
variety of different content including metrology, testing and analysis, calibration and a range of
specialised applications.
While on-line learning has long been a pillar of academic learning, the stay at home approach
required to help address the challenges of covid-19 has meant significant changes. As the UK’s
National Measurement institute (NMI), the National Physical Laboratory has long played a role in
knowledge transfer and skills development through a wide variety of on and off-line measurement
focussed training courses. The e-learning modules from NPL can help address the need for
developing the skills in measurements science that are crucial across many different industries.
