fter a 2 hour drive, or a slightly longer, less understandable bus ride from the bustling city of ZhengZhou the dirt roads and ravines of Chenjiagou appear. The densely pounded dirt lay in defined training circles, the museum and school raise proudly, you have arrived at the birthplace of Taichi.

This noble birthplace of Taichi is much less assuming than its history. In 2015, leaving the Shaolin Temple in Dengfung, crossing the Yellow River and bumping and crawling along dirt roads I arrived at a seemingly abandoned village under construction. Two steps around a corner and the lions gaurded a simple entrance through which we passed.

The feeling, as I entered into the initial courtyard, was as though a symphony erupted inside me but its eruption was one of stillness and deep complexity.
