VIP Pets !
We ' ve been featuring VIP Pets at Arlington Animal Services this month and by now you may be wondering what makes a pet at AAS a VIP Pet ? Animals are listed as VIP for reasons that include the following : time in shelter , available space in shelter , senior pet over 8 years of age , heartworm positive dogs , FIV positive cats , behavior and / or special needs of the animal , or at the discretion of the Kennel Supervisor or Shelter Manager . Rescue Events Partners
Rescue Partners are an essential part of Arlington Animal Services . These organizations assist the shelter in achieving the goal of helping as many animals as possible . Animals who need extra TLC whether it be for medical or behavior needs . IN CASE YOU MISSED IT ...
Friends of Arlington Animal Services- Betty White Challenge
To celebrate the wonderful life of beloved actress , Betty White , animal lovers rose to the occasion on what would have been the late actress ' s 100th Birthday . The challenge encouraged people to make donations to animal shelters in her memory on January 17th .
Our friends at Friends of Arlington Animal Services , also known as FAAS , generously promoted the challenge and ultimately raised $ 3,326 for animals at our shelter ! Money from these donations will go towards helping VIP Pets , including the sponsorship of heartworm positive dogs , animals in need of additional medical support , enrichment and more !
On top of the monetary donations received through the FAAS Betty White Challenge , AAS also received shipped donations of items from our wish list and had shelter visitors bringing donations supplies in all week ! We are incredibly thankful for the support and generosity of all !
