Introducing Doneida Simpson , and her eclectic alter-ego V ’ dezdra which is a remix of her exotic middle name . A child of the 80 ’ s from Trelawny , Jamaica , she grew up like most Jamaican children - in church . That ’ s where the stage bug bit her . Thereafter , no platform was safe from her face and voice . So as a tween , she joined the College Choir which led to multiple Jamaica Cultural Development Commission performance awards . The catwalk was paved for several local pageant appearances and her eventual crowning at the Miss Trelawny Festival Queen at only age 17 !

Every little girl plays dress up , and while pursuing a certificate in Fashion Design , Doneida mastered the traditional art of crocheting , which she later transformed into couture . Visualize trendy tops , sexy swimsuits and cool accessories , all hand-knitted with stylish designs . Evidently creativity and discipline has helped Doneida to apply all her talents to craft both high fashion and cool tunes which she uses to express herself .

V ’ dezdra describes her fashion as being “ limitless ” and “ creatively beautiful ”.

“ I get a feeling of joy and pride when I create a piece . . it ’ s amazing to see a ball of yarn turn into anything I picture in my mind .”

There is no sketching involved in her work , everything moves from her mind to her fingers .

She ’ s currently working on her line for the upcoming OceanStyle Showcase in Jamaica and positioning herself to participate in other events as well as open her very own Boutique .

Now , with the experience of participating in Fashion Showcases locally and internationally such as Carib Style Week in Florida and numerous showcases to come , she ’ s ready for the big times .
