CTC assessment gauges school leadership

During the past seven years , the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing has been engaged in a comprehensive effort to update and revise standards , policies and regulations relating to the preparation of school administrators and program accreditation . The effort has been motivated by contemporary developments in both the research and practices of effective school administrators and by the complex needs of California ’ s public schools in the 21st century .
Importantly , the CTC reforms in educational administration have been informed by theories and evidenced-based practices relating to instructional leadership , change leadership , professional learning communities , experiential learning , equity and equal opportunity in schools , and organizational systems . The work has been strongly influenced by scholars including Chris Argyris , Edwin Bridges , Linda Darling-Hammond , Richard DuFour , Michael Fullan , Carl Glickman , Meredith Honig , David Kolb ,
Kenneth Leithwood , Richard Marzano , Joseph Murphy , Terry Orr , Karen Seashore Louis , Edgar Schein , Peter Senge and Kyla Wahlstrom .
In September 2013 , the CTC amended the requirements for earning the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential to include , along with successfully completing an approved program and clinical practice , the passage of an administrator performance assessment . While in recent years ,

VP nominations . The deadline for nomination for 2018-19 ACSA vice president is Sept . 8 . The office is seen as key in helping set the direction of the association , as it is the direct route to the presidency . Duties include attending all board meetings , being prepared to perform the president ’ s duties when called upon , serving on the Executive Committee and chairing the association ’ s Finance Committee , and developing a working relationship with the executive director . Music mends his heart

When Richard Lemmons sits down at a piano , time seems to stand still .
“ How I can describe it is you just fall into the piano ,” Richard said . “ Mentally , you ’ re just there . You don ’ t know anything else is going on .”
But more importantly , piano serves as Richard ’ s escape from reality .

Becoming a leader in education

Stewarding a culture of learning and sharing with the community being served is a well-known component of good educational leadership . It is also Julianne Hoefer ’ s specialty .
When she arrived at the Fountain Valley School District as principal of Cox Elementary , she revolutionized the school , focusing on 21st century learning , technology and the use of data . After being promoted to district director , she spread this revolution across all 10 schools under her purview . Her ability to transform instructional programs resulted in three California Distinguished School Awards , two National Blue Ribbon nominations and eight Gold
