Mega order for cobots in China

Elite Robots , a leading supplier of collaborative robots , recently signed a major order with a prominent Chinese company for a total of 3,000 units .
“ This large order from the new energy sector is great news for the entire cobot industry , indicating that the collaborative robots ’ market is expanding . The client ’ s main businesses include new energy vehicles , components and assembly of cell phones , rechargeable batteries and photovoltaic cells . From a broader perspective , this deal underscores a significant trend whereby

cobots are becoming more viable for largescale production by large companies and the go-to alternative to industrial robots ,” explained the robotics specialist .
“ It is a fact that the relationship between collaborative robots and industrial robots is set to change . Collaborative robots are expected to account for about 10 % of total industrial robot sales by 2025 ( up from the current 5 %), with a CAGR of 40 % per year and a market expected to cross the US $ 5- billion threshold by 2032 ,” it added .
Elite Robots has , in the past two years , also made significant progress overseas , establishing local branches in Europe , Japan and America and considerably expanding its customer and partner base . It currently offers a portfolio of 37 cobots , with payloads of up to 25kg , a reach of up to 2,000mm and IP68-level protection . The range also includes models tailored to specific needs , such as the EC68-08 ( 8kg payload ) for screwing operations , the EC64-19 ( 1900mm reach ) for inspecting large objects and the explosion-proof CS Series ( with a new series ready to hit the market soon ). n

Don ’ t miss Poland ’ s Industrial Spring

The Industrial Spring is a series of exhibitions at the Kielce Exhibition and Congress Centre in Poland from 19-22 March 2024 . The previous industrial exhibition cluster took up all seven halls so one further temporary exhibition hall has been added for the 2024 event .
The Industrial Spring Cycle showcases the latest products and solutions at highly specialised exhibitions such as STOM-TOOL ; STOM- BLECH & CUTTING ; STOM LASER ; STOM- ROBOTICS ; STOM- FIX ; WELDING ; WIRTOPROCESSES ; EXPO-SURFACE ; KIELCE FLUID- POWER ; TEiA Electronics and Automation Expo ; CONTROL- STOM and 3D PRINTING DAYS .
“ 2023 ’ s STOM series and accompanying events hosted 19,000 visitors , and the show lasted four days . The comprehensive exhibition covers several industry sectors which is particularly interesting for visitors . Industrial Spring has mainly hosted representatives of manufacturing companies . The industries most often represented are machinery , automotive
and armaments ,” confirmed the show organiser , Targi Kielce S . A .
“ The Exhibition of Metal Processing Technologies includes presentations of modern CNC machines , machine tools and milling machines , complemented with displays of sheet-metal forming and processing equipment ; metal cutting , laser and laser technology equipment ; welding and industrial robots plus 3D printers . At this 2024 ’ s Industrial Spring , there will also be seminars on metrology , lasers and technologies for Industry- 4.0 ,” it concluded . n

Global metal AM markets

The “ Metal Additive Manufacturing Markets 2023 ” report has been added to ResearchAndMarkets . com ’ s offering . From the US $ 5.4 billion topline 2023 market size , the report sees US $ 3.2- billion for contract services , US $ 1.3 billion for hardware and US $ 920 million for materials .
The report also anticipates that a contraction in hardware investments may be partially offset by growth in opportunities for materials and contract services . The metal 3D-printing market is expected to achieve significantly more growth in 2023 compared to the total AM market ( which would include polymers and other materials ). Growth is expected to be powered by the actual use of metal AM processes , rather than by R & D .
The report analyses the challenges and opportunities facing metal additive manufacturing ( AM ) stakeholders in light of current market forces . The analysis anticipates that the contraction in hardware investments may be at least partially offset by slight single-digit growth in opportunities for materials and production services fuelled by newfound interest in the technologies during the second half of the year .
The latest forecasts in the report expect the metal AM market to achieve significantly more growth in 2023 , compared to the total additive market overall . “ For the first time in its history ,” this growth is expected to be powered by the actual use of metal additive processes rather than by a majority of prospective interest and research , driven by material consumption and printing services for profit .
“ In H1 2023 , AM powder markets grew at 33 % year over , with hardware at 23 % and services at 11 %. AMR does not anticipate hardware to maintain its pace in H2 2023 . All major metal AM technologies ( Powder Bed Fusion , Directed Energy Deposition , Metal Binder Jetting and Bound Metal ) are expected to grow in 2023 at rates from 18 % to 24 %,” added the report . n
